Red Label Kallang Wave Mall 2025: The Unmanned Retail Pop-Up

Red Label was a free pop-up at Kallang Wave Mall's Level 1 Atrium that ran until 19 October 2025, Fridays to Sundays, 10am to 10pm. Red Label billed it as Singapore's first unmanned retail experience: no cashier queue, an AI shopping assistant and a prize machine. It has ended.

What Red Label was

A shop with no one behind the counter. It was run by events agency Invade with support from Enterprise Singapore, and Senior Minister of State Low Yen Ling announced it in a 25 September 2025 speech as a store with no staff, 10 brands across three zones.

The "first unmanned" line is Red Label's own, and the minister's speech used it too. We are passing it on, not ranking it. Singapore has had cashier-free shops before, so read it as their billing.

The tech, and whether it was fun

The AI Shopping Assistant was the bit people filmed. You stood on the LED floor, waved once, and the screen pointed you to a product in the space. Gimmick, yes, but a fun one.

Then the Gachabot. Spend at least $50, or scan QR codes around the space, and you collected digital gacha tokens to redeem for prizes. The QR route meant you could play without buying anything, which is the right way to run it.

The brands inside

If you came for the stadium side of Kallang, the same area later had the Demon Slayer exhibition at the former Sports Hub Library. And Kallang Wave Mall's 2028 revamp is the next big change for the mall.
