The free Sos Cili Mekdi bottle swap is at Lot 10, Bukit Bintang, on Wednesday 21 October 2026 from 8pm: hand over one packet, get one bottle. McDonald's Malaysia has 500 bottles, one per person. Here is what to bring, what 44 packets in a bottle really means, and why the Akan Datang teaser has everyone asking if it will be sold.
One Sos Cili Mekdi packet, unopened. That is the entry fee, and it is the only one. Bring it in your pocket, not at the bottom of a bag.
Lot 10 is at 50 Jalan Bukit Bintang, right at the Bukit Bintang MRT and Monorail stop. The swap starts at 8pm and stops when 500 bottles are gone. The rules are one packet for one bottle, per person, so a second packet does nothing for you. Bring a friend with their own packet instead.
The full rules, the exact spot and McDonald's own post are in our main Sos Cili bottle guide.
McDonald's poster says one bottle equals 44 packets of Sos Cili Mekdi. A single packet says 8.5g net on the front. So if the bottle really holds 44 packets' worth, that is about 374g of chilli sauce, from one 8.5g packet. Our maths, not theirs, but the trade is obvious.
The poster also says the bottle shown is for illustration only and terms apply. So do not be surprised if the one you get looks slightly different from the ad.
The first teaser McDonald's Malaysia posted just said AKAN DATANG, coming soon, over a packet being squeezed into a bottle. That is why our caption said now we can spam the chilli.
Nothing announced yet about selling it. And this is a company that told Utusan Malaysia in 2023, during the RM1 chilli sauce packet drama, that it does not sell chilli sauce. A bottle in shops would be a real change. Until McDonald's says otherwise, 21 October at Lot 10 is the only official way to get one.
· Bring one unopened Sos Cili Mekdi packet. Nothing else is needed.
· Arrive before 8pm. 500 bottles in Bukit Bintang will not last long.
· One bottle per person. Bring friends, not extra packets.
· Bottles on Shopee after tonight are resale. Not an official launch.
