In late October 2025, KOBASHI at 79 South Bridge Road had a weekday lunch set for $16: one main and one drink, 12pm to 2pm. We said it was one of the few cafe lunches near the CBD that was worth the price.
One main plus one drink, weekdays only, from 12pm to 2pm. The reel opened on their prawn pasta, a plate of linguine with a pile of grilled prawns on top. For scale, Time Out listed KOBASHI's truffle mushroom pasta at $20 on its own when the cafe opened in 2024.
Most people know KOBASHI for its sourdo'nuts, not its mains. This post was the case for staying for lunch.
Cafe food had been getting more expensive and more average in 2025. That was our complaint in the caption, not a hot take. At $16 with a drink, a lunch set within walking distance of Raffles Place and Clarke Quay was a fair deal for office lunch.
The catch is the window. Two hours, weekdays. Come at 1.30pm with a queue and you are pushing it.
We could not confirm the $16 set is still running in October 2026, so check with the cafe before you plan your lunch around it. Today the shop at 79 South Bridge Road lists Monday to Saturday 10am to 6pm and Sunday 10am to 4pm, kitchen last orders an hour before close (kobashi.sg, checked 15 Oct 2026).
ยท Go at 12pm sharp. CBD lunch crowds fill cafes fast.
ยท Clarke Quay MRT is the closest station.
ยท Ask about the set before ordering a la carte.
$16 for one main and one drink, weekdays 12pm to 2pm, per our October 2025 post. Check with the cafe for the current price.
Yes. 79 South Bridge Road is a short walk from Clarke Quay MRT and walkable from Raffles Place.
