Heart on Wheels 2026, Food from the Heart's food donation drive-thru, ran on 7 and 8 March 2026 from 9am to 6pm at Wearnes, 45 Leng Kee Road. The target was 28,000 food items and the final count was 33,400, plus more than $55,000 in cash. The drive-thru is done for the year, but Food from the Heart takes food donations all year, and that part is below.
It ran until 8 March 2026. We keep the page up because people still search for it and the details are worth having, but do not make the trip on the strength of this article. For what is actually on right now, see things to do this weekend.
You drove in, popped the boot, and volunteers unloaded your bags of rice and canned sardines straight into the cages. Food from the Heart calls it the largest annual food donation drive-thru in Singapore, and 2026 was the fourth year Wearnes hosted it at its Leng Kee Road showroom strip.
When we went, the road outside was lined with motorbikes. Close to 250 vehicles from 13 car and bike clubs rolled through over the weekend, according to Food from the Heart's own release, and the Ducati crowd showed up in full red. The same charity runs the Community Shops we wrote about in our Bedok South piece, and that is where a lot of this food ends up.
Food from the Heart published a specific list, and it is worth following because it is built around what families actually cook with. For 2026 it was: cooking oil (1L), canned meat like sardines, chicken or pork, biscuits (200g to 500g), bread spreads (peanut butter, kaya, jam, hazelnut), rice (1kg to 2.5kg), oats or cereal, instant noodles, and instant drinks in sachets or Milo, less sugar where possible.
Notice what is not on it. No chips, no sweets, nothing fresh. Shelf-stable staples go further.
They beat the target by more than 5,000 items: 33,400 food items and over $55,000 in cash across the two days. Food from the Heart says the drive-thru has collected more than 165,000 food items and close to $235,000 since it started in 2023. Senior Parliamentary Secretary Eric Chua was guest of honour.
You do not need to wait for next March. Food from the Heart's main office is at 130 Joo Seng Road, #03-01, open Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and there is a 24/7 food drop box for outside those hours. Each of its six Community Shops also has a 24/7 donation box.
Their year-round most-wanted list is close to the drive-thru one: rice in 1kg to 2kg bags, canned proteins like sardines and tuna, canned vegetables, 1L cooking oil, and low-sugar biscuits and drinks. Fresh produce, eggs and anything chilled should only go in during opening hours. If you are giving a lot, tell them in advance. You can also have a FairPrice or RedMart order delivered straight to the office address.
· Check expiry dates before you donate. Stuff about to expire is harder for the charity to hand out.
· Buy from the wishlist, not your pantry clear-out. Rice, oil and canned meat are what families ask for.
· Fresh or chilled food only goes in during office hours, never the 24/7 box.
· Big load? Message Food from the Heart first so someone is ready to receive it.
