GYG Double Protein: Which Items the Free Upgrade Skipped

The exclusion list, and why it existed

Mains and minis were in, ala carte or as a meal. Tacos and quesadillas were out. That is not arbitrary: a taco is sold in threes and a quesadilla is a fixed-fill item, so doubling the protein on either breaks the food cost in a way a burrito bowl does not. It also could not be stacked with any other promo. App only, at every outlet

It ran at all outlets but only through the GYG app, which is now the default shape for chain promos here. GYG has around 19 outlets across Singapore, spread through malls and the CBD, so the reach was real. The catch with app-only deals is timing: by the time a two-week promo reaches you through a repost, you are downloading an app with days left on the clock. Having the app already installed is the whole game.

It ended on 5 April

Our post on 30 March said 31 March, which was the original end date. GYG extended it to 5 April 2026. Double Protein stayed on the menu afterwards as a paid upgrade, so the item did not go anywhere, only the free part did.
