In February 2026 we posted three ways to help Food from the Heart hit its 28,000-item goal: drive through Heart on Wheels with a boot of groceries, sponsor a $65 food bundle, or share the post. The drive-thru is done for 2026, but the other two still work, and so does dropping off food at their office any day of the week.
Heart on Wheels ran on 7 and 8 March 2026 at Wearnes, 45 Leng Kee Road. It beat its 28,000-item target, and we covered the final count in our Heart on Wheels 2026 recap. We could not find a date for the next one on Food from the Heart's site when we checked on 1 October 2026.
You do not need it though. Food from the Heart's main office at 130 Joo Seng Road, #03-01, takes food Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm, and has a 24/7 drop box for after hours. Its six Community Shops, in Mountbatten, Boon Lay, Lengkok Bahru, Punggol, Chong Pang and Bedok, have 24/7 drop boxes too. You can also have a FairPrice or RedMart order delivered straight to the office during office hours.
The 2026 drive-thru wishlist is a good shopping list for any time of year: cooking oil (1L), canned meat like sardines, chicken or pork, biscuits (200g to 500g), bread spreads, rice (1kg to 2.5kg), oats or cereal, instant noodles, and coffee, tea or Milo sachets, less sugar if possible.
Food from the Heart's own year-round list is close: rice, canned vegetables, 1L cooking oil, canned proteins and low-sugar biscuits and drinks. Fresh produce, eggs and chilled food only go in during opening hours, never the drop box.
Our post said a $65 food bundle could supplement a lower-income family for a month. That figure was from the campaign at the time. Today, Food from the Heart's donate page takes cash as a one-time or monthly gift, with presets from $50, by PayNow or card.
The page says cash donations of $50 and above are eligible for a 250% tax deduction, submitted to IRAS with your NRIC or FIN. If you are short on time, this is the fastest of the three.
A share still costs nothing. The newer option is time: Food from the Heart's volunteer page lists Bread Runs, where volunteers collect surplus bread for families, plus warehouse food packing and skills-based roles. You sign up online and get a volunteer ID by email.
· Check expiry dates before you donate. Food close to expiry is hard to hand out.
· Big load? Contact Food from the Heart first so someone is ready to receive it.
· The 24/7 drop boxes are for shelf-stable food only. Fresh and chilled items go in during opening hours.
Donate food at 130 Joo Seng Road #03-01 or any of its six Community Shop drop boxes, give cash on its donate page, or volunteer through its Bread Run and warehouse packing programmes.
