Curiosity Cove Mandai: First Look Inside the Indoor Nature Playground

Curiosity Cove is Mandai Wildlife Reserve's indoor nature playground at Mandai Wildlife East, and it opened on 21 November 2025. We filmed inside before opening day: four zones, over 30 interactive points, a tall orangutan tree-bed climb, sea animals hidden in coral and a snake you crawl through. It is still open as of October 2026.

What we saw in 15 seconds

Our reel opened on kids in the dark poking at a glowing wall, then cut to the shot that sold it: a net-and-platform tree climb, which our caption called 6 metres tall, rising into a ceiling of hanging leaves.

Next came coral you could touch, with sea creatures tucked into it, a padded red tunnel, a kid popping out of a hole in a speckled desert block, and two toddlers waving at a lion on a projection wall. Mandai calls it Singapore's largest indoor nature-inspired playscape, at 4,600 sqm.

The four zones, decoded

Wetlands is water: Reef Retreat, the coral bit, and a riverbank path with animal footprints. Forestlands is the rainforest, with the Orangutan Sleeping Platform climb and the Microscopic Canopy, where projections blow insects up to giant size.

Grasslands has the digital Watering Hole, where kids see themselves turn into animals. Drylands is the desert, and the Giant Snake Belly is the crawl-through everyone films.

For the ticket maths, read our Curiosity Cove price guide, or what changed a year in.

Who it suits

Mandai built it for ages 3 to 12, and the climb is the line between them. The tree-bed has varied heights so smaller kids stop lower down, but it is the older ones who get to the top. Toddlers spend most of their time at the projection walls and the reef.
