Bugis Street Level 2 Thrift Market: What Is at SOMEWHERE @ Bugis

Bugis Street Level 2 Thrift Market: What Is at SOMEWHERE @ Bugis

SOMEWHERE @ Bugis is a weekend market of about 40 booths on Bugis Street Level 2, open every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm to 7pm, free entry. It is run with Invade, the team behind Artbox and Fleawhere, and the sellers are thrifters, crafters and collectors instead of the souvenir stalls that used to fill that floor.

What the 40 booths actually sell

The weekend market is pre-loved clothes first, then handmade trinkets, collectibles and small activity booths. Sellers rotate week to week, so the floor is never quite the same twice, and the good vintage pieces are one-offs. We wrote up the market when it opened in our guide to the SOMEWHERE @ Bugis weekend market, and covered the fashion side in the Youth Space booth lineup. The launch weekend on 25 and 26 July ran as CLOSET RAID, with booths by local fashion content creators.

The permanent shops, not just the weekend market

This is the part people miss. Level 2 has fixed tenants that are open beyond the weekend: Ruby Merlot for bags and journals, with junk journaling and journal customisation sessions. Creamie Sippies runs a banana pudding bar where you pick your own toppings. White Pixies is a candle bar with seven signature workshops. Standard Photo Studio has four themed photo booths and does keychain customisation. The floor also has a lounge, podcast rooms, open-deck turntables and creator spaces run with schools and art institutions. So if you turn up on a Wednesday there is still something to do, just no market.

Getting there and when to go

Bugis Street Level 2 is straight up the escalator from the street entrance opposite Bugis MRT, about two minutes from the station. Saturday afternoon is the fullest, some sellers do not come back on Sunday. Entry is free either way, so it is an easy stop before dinner in the area. More weekend ideas are on the blog.

Good to know

· Saturday afternoon has the most booths open. Sunday thins out.

· Bring cash and PayNow. Plenty of the small sellers do not take cards.

· The market is weekends only, 1pm to 7pm. On weekdays the fixed shops and workshops are still open.

· Vintage racks are single pieces. If it fits and you like it, buy it then, it will not be there next week.
