JUMBO Seafood, Riverside Point, 30 Merchant Road #01-01/02, about 5 minutes from Clarke Quay MRT. Open daily 11.30am to 11pm, last order 10.15pm. JUMBO's Singapore list also has Dempsey Hill, ION Orchard, Jewel Changi Airport, The Riverwalk and JUMBO Premium at Resorts World Sentosa. Riverside Point is the riverside one, as the name says.
Long Beach, Coastal PlayGrove, 902 East Coast Parkway #01-01/02. No MRT nearby, so cab in or park at Carpark B2. Weekdays and Sundays 11am to 11pm, Saturdays and eves of public holidays to 11.30pm, last order 10.15pm. Long Beach bills its black pepper crab as the Original and Best. Other outlets: 25 Dempsey Road (lunch 11am to 3pm, dinner 5pm to 11.30pm weekdays) and The Quayside, 60 Robertson Quay #01-14 (11.30am to 11.30pm, last order 10.45pm). Its IMM outlet is permanently closed.
Palm Beach Seafood, #01-09 One Fullerton, 1 Fullerton Road, near Raffles Place MRT. Lunch 12pm to 2.30pm, dinner 5.30pm to 10.30pm, daily. Palm Beach says it is credited with inventing chilli crab, and dates its favourites to 1956. The Merlion view is the reason to pay for it.
Roland Restaurant, 89 Marine Parade Central, Level 6, Marine Parade MRT Exit 1. Roland calls itself the creator of chilli crab: owner Roland Lim says his mother started cooking it in the 1950s at a roadside stall. Two restaurants, two origin stories. Lunch Monday to Saturday 11.30am to 2.30pm, dinner 6pm to 10pm; Sundays and public holidays lunch from 11am.
Red House Seafood, since 1976. Three outlets: Grand Copthorne Waterfront, 392 Havelock Road (near Havelock MRT), Esplanade, 8 Raffles Avenue #01-14/16, and CQ @ Clarke Quay, 3C River Valley Road #01-02/03. Alliance Seafood, Newton Food Centre #01-27, by Newton MRT. A 2026 Bib Gourmand; Michelin's listing says not to miss the cereal butter prawns, and the chilli crab is the local order. New Ubin Seafood, CHIJMES #02-01B/C, 30 Victoria Street, near City Hall MRT. Monday to Sunday 11am to 1am, last order 11.30pm, so it works for late crab. Zi char in a pretty building.

Dancing Crab, Orchard Central #07-14/15, 181 Orchard Road, and VivoCity #03-10. Lunch 11.30am to 3pm and dinner 5.30pm to 10pm daily. Dancing Crab describes its food as American-style seafood with Singapore seafood flavours. The pick for a group that wants something louder than a Cantonese banquet.
