Wine Delivery Singapore Rules: 10.30pm Law, ID, 3 Working Days

Wine Delivery Singapore Rules: 10.30pm Law, ID, 3 Working Days

Wine delivery in Singapore runs around one law. The Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act, in force since 1 April 2015, bans retail sale of take-away liquor from 10.30pm to 7am every day, islandwide, and nobody under 18 can be supplied at all. That is why most wine delivery runs in the day or early evening, why someone 18 or older has to take the box, and why the free delivery on Eventful's $129 Wine Mystery Box (Drop #005, closes 27 October 2026) runs in daytime windows within 3 working days.

What the law actually says

The Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act was passed on 29 January 2015 and came into force on 1 April 2015. The Ministry of Home Affairs put the retail rule in one line: the retail sale of take-away liquor is not allowed from 10.30pm to 7am every day. Drinking in public places is banned in the same hours. Source: the MHA announcement of 31 March 2015.

Two areas get an earlier cut-off. Geylang and Little India are Liquor Control Zones, and there the take-away restriction starts from 7pm on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and the eves of public holidays. The Singapore Police Force issues the licences behind all of this: a Class 3A licence, the one a wine shop needs, allows retail supply of all types of liquor for consumption elsewhere from 7am to before 10.30pm. Can wine be delivered after 10.30pm?

Sometimes, and this is the part most people get wrong. SPF's licence page says Class 3A, 3B or 4 licence holders, including online liquor businesses, can deliver beyond the trading hours on their licence if the delivery is made to a non-public place, such as a home, an office or a hotel room. Delivery to a public place after 10.30pm is not allowed. So a retailer can legally run a late home delivery, and some do. Cellarbration's own delivery page lists deliveries from 11am to 11pm daily, checked on 7 October 2026.

What no licensee can do, at any hour, is supply liquor to anyone under 18, and that rule applies to online orders as much as to a shop counter. That is where the ID check at your door comes from.

The Wine Mystery Box keeps it simple. Deliveries run in daytime windows only, nothing between 10.30pm and 7am, and someone 18 or older has to receive the box. For what is in it and how the quiz works, start with the Wine Mystery Box Singapore guide for Drop #005.

ID at the door: why the driver asks

A licensee and its staff must not supply liquor to anyone under 18, online or in person. The only way a delivery driver can be sure is to look at an ID, so photo ID may be checked when the box is handed over. NRIC, driving licence or passport all show a date of birth. The driver is not being difficult, the licence depends on it.

For a delivery drop this means one practical thing: the box cannot be left at the door, with a neighbour, or with a child. An adult has to be in. If that is not possible at the address you had in mind, use one where it is. Sending the box as a present? We covered the address and timing side in how to send the Wine Mystery Box as a gift.

What 3 working days means when you order on a Friday

Working days are Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sunday do not count. So an order placed on Friday counts Monday as day one, Tuesday as day two and Wednesday as day three, which means the box can land any time up to Wednesday. Order on Monday and it is within the same week, by Thursday.

If you need it for a weekend, order by Tuesday at the latest. If you need it for a specific day, order a week ahead and stop worrying about it. The one thing a 3 working day promise cannot do is get a box to you tonight.

How the Wine Mystery Box handles all of it

Free delivery, islandwide, within 3 working days of your order, daytime windows, no self collection. Someone 18 or older with photo ID receives it. $129 with GST included and nothing added at checkout. Max 2 boxes per person, and the drop closes on Tuesday 27 October 2026 at 11.59pm or earlier if the first 150 boxes go. The box itself only exists through Drop #005, it is not a product on the Cellarbration site.

For everything else Cellarbration sells, their own delivery, checked on 7 October 2026, is free next-day delivery with no minimum order, same-day delivery free on orders of $150 and above or $9.90 below that, and an express option within 90 minutes at a flat $19.90, all within Singapore and 7 days a week except public holidays. Those terms are theirs and can change, so check their delivery page before you count on them.

Good to know

· Order by Tuesday if you want the box before the weekend. Friday orders can land as late as Wednesday.

· Whoever takes delivery needs photo ID on them, not in the other bag.

· Daytime windows only. Do not plan on a late-night handover.

· Need to send it to an office? That is a non-public place, but an adult still has to sign for it.

FAQs

Can alcohol be delivered after 10.30pm in Singapore?

Retail sale of take-away liquor is banned from 10.30pm to 7am under the Liquor Control (Supply and Consumption) Act. SPF allows licensed retailers, including online shops, to deliver outside those hours only to a non-public place such as a home or office, never to a public place. The Wine Mystery Box delivers in daytime windows only.

What hours can alcohol be sold in Singapore?

A Class 3A retail licence allows take-away liquor sales from 7am to before 10.30pm. In the Liquor Control Zones, Geylang and Little India, take-away sales stop from 7pm on Saturdays, Sundays, public holidays and the eves of public holidays.

Do I need to show ID for wine delivery in Singapore?

Yes, expect to. No licensee may supply liquor to anyone under 18, online included, so drivers may ask for photo ID at the door. For the Wine Mystery Box, someone 18 or older must receive it and photo ID may be checked.

What does 3 working days delivery mean?

Monday to Friday count, weekends do not. An order placed on Friday counts Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so the box can arrive up to Wednesday. An order placed on Monday arrives by Thursday.

Is delivery free with the Wine Mystery Box?

Yes. $129 with GST includes free islandwide delivery within 3 working days of your order. Nothing is added at checkout.

Can I self collect the Wine Mystery Box from a Cellarbration store?

No. The box is delivery only. It ships to the address on your order, and someone 18 or older with photo ID has to receive it.

What are the Liquor Control Zones in Singapore?

Geylang and Little India, declared from 1 April 2015. Take-away liquor sales there stop earlier, from 7pm on weekends, public holidays and eves of public holidays, instead of 10.30pm.
