Our first ever networking event ran on 24 October 2025 at Cheeselads on Tyrwhitt Road, and more people came than we expected. This is our thank-you post from two days later. The night was built for mingling and making real connections, with Cheeselads, Mark of Lau Wang Claypot and Repair.sg as featured guests.
Joston's caption opens with thank you, in capitals, and he could not believe how many people turned up. Our Luma page shows 24 of the 25 seats were taken.
The format was simple. Wine, a cheese platter, and two hours to meet people. The pitch beforehand was make genuine connections, and that is what the night was for.
Special thanks went to Cheeselads, Mark of Lau Wang Claypot and Repair.sg for coming down and sharing what they know. Their stories, as we pitched them, are in our founders post.
There were plenty of other entrepreneurs in the room too. We kept those names back in the caption, half joking that you would find out by coming to the next one.
We promised to improve with every event, and the next one did. Looking back, night one was purely networking with no topic, and the featured guests hardly had time to talk. Our second event recap admits that and explains the fix: networking plus one specific topic. That second event was How To Get Your First 1M TikTok Views on 25 November 2025.
· If you run your own event, take the group photo early, before people start leaving.
· Name your featured guests in the thank-you post. It is the easiest favour to return.
