Our first networking night on 24 October 2025 was built around three founder stories. Per our carousel: Cheeselads grew from $2k to $1M in a single year, Mark of Lau Wang Claypot scaled to 8 outlets across Singapore, and Zames and Amos built Repair.sg into a $1.7M repair company. This is the post where we laid that out.
That was the hook on the first slide: this is how you scale from $2k to $1M in a single year. The slide pinned it on Cheeselads, the cheese shop that hosted the night. It is their number, per our post, not something we audited.
The full poster with names, date and venue is in our event announcement. If you know Cheeselads from the drops, they also run PRESSED! at Shell Siglap.
Lau Wang Claypot's founder Mark was the second guest. The slide said to come and learn how he scaled to 8 outlets all over Singapore, which for a claypot rice brand is a lot of claypots.
Repair.sg was the third. Zames and Amos, the two behind it, built a $1.7M repair company per our slide. A home repair business is about as unglamorous as it gets, which is exactly why it was worth hearing from.
We also lined up a guest list of other 7 to 8 figure founders, so the featured three were not the only people worth talking to. Each $48 ticket came with two glasses of red wine and a cheese tasting platter.
ยท Ask founders about the year it almost did not work. You learn more than from the revenue number.
ยท A boring business with a clear problem, like home repair, is often the better lesson than a flashy one.
