Why you cannot buy this box on Cellarbration's own site

Cellarbration sells a lot of bottles. Their site lists wine from $18 a bottle on the Cellar Wine page, whisky, gin, soju and sake by the shelf, and they run 9 retail stores islandwide on top of the online shop. You can buy almost anything they stock from your phone and have it at your door the next day for free.

The one thing you cannot buy there is this box. The Wine Mystery Box is a Cellarbration x Eventful drop, which means it exists only as part of Eventful Drops: one product, one run of 150 boxes, one page to order from, and then it is gone. What Cellarbration is, in their own words

Cellarbration started in 2012 and describes itself on its About Us page as the first-ever local online alcohol delivery platform to launch in the Singapore market. The same page calls it an online and retail destination for the largest selection of beers, wines, spirits and whiskies in Singapore and South-East Asia, with 9 retail locations around the island. Their homepage ticker puts it shorter: best prices since 2012, always free delivery with no minimum purchase, a 90-minute express delivery option, 9 retail shops islandwide.

Eventful readers have met them before. This is a company that moves a lot of wine every week, and that is the whole reason a mystery box from them is a safe bet.

Why a mystery box from a wine retailer is a safe bet

A mystery box is only as good as the person packing it. A shop that stocks a few dozen wines has to put something in the box. A retailer that lists hundreds of wines and sells them every day knows what each bottle is actually worth, what moves, and what people reorder. Go to eventful-sg.com/drop-005 and take the 6-question Which wine are you? quiz. It asks about you, not grapes: Friday dinner, your role at a party, which holiday you would pick. The result sorts you into one of five collections, The Velvet Collection, Crisp & Bright Bundle, The Cellarbration Trio, The Discovery Reserve or The Grand Experience, and the cellar team packs that collection. Checkout only opens after the quiz, and your result rides on your order.

Pay by PayNow, Apple Pay or card through Shopify. The box is delivered free, islandwide, within 3 working days (Monday to Friday) in daytime windows. Someone 18 or older has to receive it, with photo ID, because by law alcohol cannot be delivered in Singapore between 10.30pm and 7am. There is no self collection, not even at the Ubi showroom.
