Therme Singapore: The $1 Billion Wellness Attraction Opening in 2030
Therme Singapore is a seven-storey wellness attraction being built at Marina South, costing about S$1 billion and scheduled to open in 2030. It has broken ground on a waterfront site between Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, and will hold roughly 20 pools, 18 water slides, 70 treatment rooms and more than 200,000 plants across a floor area about the size of nine football fields. It is not on Sentosa, which is where most people assume it is going.
What is actually going inside
Three zones. Play carries the 18 water slides and the children's pools. Relax is the thermal pools and mineral baths, which is the part Therme is known for in Europe. Restore holds the saunas, massage rooms and cold plunge pools. Add 70 treatment rooms and over 200,000 plants, which is the design signature: these buildings are half glasshouse, so the pools sit under palms rather than under a ceiling.
Where, and why Marina South
A waterfront plot between Marina Barrage and Gardens by the Bay, not Sentosa. That puts it inside the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage cluster instead of competing with the Sentosa attractions, and on a site that already gets weekend foot traffic. Therme Group expects around two million visitors a year, which is the number that tells you the scale being planned. This is their gateway project into Asia.
2030 is a long way out
Ground has broken and the opening year is 2030, which means the renders you are looking at are artist impressions and the detail will move. Pricing has not been published and neither has anything about membership or day passes. Worth watching, not worth planning around. If you want something to do in that part of town before then, the Gardens by the Bay and Marina Barrage stretch is already a full afternoon.
