Family Mookata's all-in-one charcoal mookata buffet costs $19.90 nett per adult and $14.90 for kids between 100cm and 140cm, minimum two people. Nett means nett: no GST, no service charge. That price covers the whole counter, marinated pork and chicken, smoked duck, shellfish, noodles and vegetables, plus live baby lobster you scoop from the tank yourself, a lok lok station on the house, and a cheese dip that melts on the pan while you grill. It runs at Ang Mo Kio, Yishun and Jurong West, open 1pm to 11pm daily.
You get a charcoal pan, the classic Thai mookata dome, grill on top and soup around the rim.
Load up at the counter as many times as you want: the marinated meats are the reason the AMK outlet holds a 4.9 rating across more than 4,700 Google reviews. The soup around the rim starts as broth and finishes, two hours later, as the best thing on the table because everything you grilled dripped into it.
The pan is built for sharing, which is why bookings start at two people, and tables go up to twenty if you are bringing the whole extended family.
The baby lobster tank is the party trick: catch your own, grill it, no supplement on the seafood tier.
There are also crabs, scallops, prawns and clams depending on the day. One regular put it well in their Google review: the spread was impressive with small lobsters, crabs, scallops, prawns, clams, salmon and more.
The lok lok skewer station is free with the buffet, and there are ice pops and desserts to finish. Go hungry, pace the meats, and do not fill up on noodles in the first round, that is rookie behaviour.
Family Mookata runs real weekday deals on Eventful Tables: 10% off the food bill Mon to Fri, 1pm to 4pm, and 5% off Mon to Thu, 5pm to 8pm. On a $19.90 nett buffet that is already cheap, 10% off is silly value.
Drinks are not included, deals pause on public holidays, and only five bookings per timing carry the discount, so the 1pm Friday slots will not sit around. All other timings book free at the normal price.
Three outlets: Ang Mo Kio (Blk 215 AMK Ave 1, inside Sinfoodie Coffeeshop), Yishun (Northview Bizhub) and Jurong West (Blk 429 Jurong West Ave 1). Same price, same counter format.
We compared them properly in the outlet guide. Booking is free on Eventful Tables, seatings 1pm to 9:30pm. If you need the halal version, the same family runs Family Hakata down the road in AMK, MUIS certified, same price.
· Book the Mon to Fri 1pm to 4pm window for the 10% deal, it is the same buffet with no dinner queue.
· The charcoal pan is for two or more, no solo bookings.
· It is $19.90 nett. No GST, no service charge, so the menu price is the price you pay.
· CDC vouchers are accepted at Family Mookata outlets.

Yes. You catch it from the tank yourself and grill it, included in the adult buffet price.
1pm to 11pm daily at all three outlets, with the last seating for bookings at 9:30pm.
No time limit, which regulars call out in reviews as part of why the value is hard to beat.
